She developed an eye health initiative that benefited more than 900 people in rural areas of Bangalore
The Indian subsidiary of the Spanish company Técnicas Reunidas recently implemented a vision health program in rural areas of Bangalore, India. This initiative, developed in partnership with the Rotary Club of Bangalore and the Sankara Eye Foundation, brought eye care to communities with limited access to healthcare services.
In total, the program benefited 926 people, who received comprehensive eye exams. In addition, more than 500 pairs of eyeglasses were distributed, 500 cataract surgeries were performed, and 51 complete ophthalmological procedures were carried out.
Mobile units were deployed to remote areas where the population has limited access to medical services. This approach facilitated early diagnosis and timely treatment, reducing barriers to access and promoting health equity.
According to Técnicas Reunidas, this action is part of the company's global commitment to human rights. In 2024, the company donated over €1,300,000 to foundations and NGOs, a 399% increase compared to the previous year, driven primarily by donations to those affected by the DANA storm.
Técnicas Reunidas has over 1,700 employees in India and manages these initiatives through its team in the country, in collaboration with NGOs and local partners.
