Meeting of the working groups of the Spain-India CEO Forum

The director of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Inmaculada Riera, defends the strategic importance of the relationship between the two countries

The sectoral working groups of the Spain-India CEO Forum recently met at the headquarters of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in New Delhi. Inmaculada Riera, Director General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, participated in the event, emphasizing the strategic importance of the economic relationship between the two countries and the role of this Forum as a tool for structured dialogue and business cooperation.

"India is an essential partner in an uncertain and changing global context, where companies need to diversify, strengthen their resilience, and rely on reliable allies," stated Inmaculada Riera, who highlighted that more than 230 Spanish companies have a presence in the Asian country.

She also noted that the recent visit to India by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, gave new impetus to the CEO Forum, whose sectoral working groups are designed to "translate strategic vision into concrete actions."

The Director General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce also praised the role of this institution and the Indo-Spanish Chamber of Commerce as "a central player in business coordination, especially for SMEs, facilitating contacts, information, and institutional support."

Inmaculada Riera concluded by reaffirming the Spanish Chamber of Commerce's commitment to public-private dialogue and generating business opportunities for Spanish companies: "We firmly believe in India and in the potential of our strategic partnership. We will continue working closely with FICCI, with companies, and with both governments to transform this relationship into tangible and lasting results."

According to the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Spain is the 16th largest investor in India, with a stock of €1.905 billion in key sectors such as automotive, renewable energy, infrastructure, defense, consumer goods, and services.
