A round table discussion to analyze the opportunities that are opening up for the internationalization of Spanish companies in the region
Our Secretary General, María Victoria González Román, participated in the event organized in Madrid by Casa Asia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, the Exporters and Investors Club, and Asempea. The objective was to present the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Asia-Pacific Strategy 2026-2029 to the Spanish business community and analyze the opportunities it offers for their internationalization in this region.
Presented by Minister José Manuel Albares last February, this strategy marks a new stage in Spanish foreign policy toward a region of key importance due to its demographic, economic, and technological significance. This roadmap establishes a framework for action for the coming years and seeks to promote market diversification for Spanish companies, as well as to strengthen Spain's institutional and diplomatic presence in the region.
The event was opened by the Director General of Casa Asia, José Pintor, who moderated the round table discussion "Analysis of the Asia-Pacific Strategy 2026-2029: Opportunities for Spanish Companies." Along with our Secretary General, the following individuals participated in the meeting: Luis Fonseca, Director General for North America, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Juan Ignacio del Castillo, Deputy Director General for Economic Diplomacy; Antonio Viñal, Secretary General of Asempea and Director of AVCO Legal; and Antonio Bonet, President of the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club.
The meeting brought together institutional and business representatives and provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the role of economic diplomacy and the instruments that support business internationalization in this key region.
