(CANCELLED)
Due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East, which is affecting numerous air connections with India, we are obliged to announce the cancellation of the Aditi Mangaldas company's performance.
As soon as circumstances allow, we will consider rescheduling the performance.
The prestigious Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company is performing this March in Madrid and Barcelona with its show 'LIFE,' a blend of classical Kathak dance and contemporary dance based on Kathak. The performance features eight dancers from India, delivering a visually powerful and expressive production.
The work is structured in three parts that evoke different stages of life. The first, "Life Celebrated," symbolizes the celebration of life through the beauty of classical Kathak dance. The second, "Life Interrupted," explores, through contemporary dance based on Kathak, intimate and binary spaces such as humanity and brutality, the feminine and the masculine, good and evil. Finally, "Eternal Life" is an exploration of the essence of time through contemporary dance rooted in Kathak.
Presented as part of the Spain-India Dual Year, 'LIFE' is being performed in Spain thanks to the collaboration of the Embassy of India, the Consulate General of India, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and our sponsors Casa Asia and Casa de la India, with the support of Yuptel Telecom and Soho.
The performance in Madrid will be on March 11 at 8:00 p.m. at the Teatro Fernando de Rojas (Círculo de Bellas Artes).
The performance in Barcelona will be on March 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Casino l'Aliança del Poblenou.
