It will supply 1,000 units of its Kime robot to Sieflex Robotics, which is currently developing the first robotized city in the Asian country
The Malaga-based company Macco Robotics recently announced the signing of a contract to supply its robots to India. The contract was signed with the Indian company Sieflex Robotics, which is currently developing a project called Takshashila, set to become India's first fully robotic city.
Specifically, Macco Robotics will deliver an order of 1,000 units of its Kime robot in 2026. Kime is a bartender robot capable of serving all types of drinks behind a bar. It can operate in any bar-like structure or next to a specialized kiosk and can prepare any type of beverage, including elaborate cocktails. On its website, the company states that it is currently working to enable the robot to also prepare and serve salads, ready meals, packaged sandwiches, and other dishes.
The future smart city of Takshashila will include museums, offices, restaurants, housing, and a university, and will house the country's largest research and technology center. The alliance between the two companies will allow Sieflex Robotics to become Macco's official distributor in India. Furthermore, both firms will collaborate on R&D. Until now, Macco Robotics had units of its Kime robot operating in several countries, including Spain and the United States, but this will be its first large-scale operation.
The alliance between Macco Robotics and Sieflex will be formalized next February in India, at the first robotic facilities of the Takshashila project.
