The €7.7 million deal marks the arrival of this Asian group to the Spanish market
Freshara Agro Exports, an Indian group specializing in pickles and preserved vegetables, headquartered in Chennai, has entered the Spanish market after acquiring the Navarre-based company Aceitunas Sarasa, which filed for bankruptcy protection last September.
The transaction, valued at €7.7 million, includes Aceitunas Sarasa's three production facilities in Navarre and Badajoz, as well as the assumption of mortgage loans and the preservation of 92 jobs. According to Invest in Navarra, this operation "demonstrates the interest of international investors in strategic assets in the Navarre region" and reinforces Navarre's position "as an attractive destination for foreign investment in the industrial and agri-food sectors."
With a presence in more than 50 countries, Freshara Agro Exports thus enters the Spanish market and expands its international footprint in the agri-food sector. For Aceitunas Sarasa, this represents an opportunity for continuity and growth.
