Spanish Chamber of Commerce promotes trade and investment between Spain and India

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce, together with the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations (CEOE) and the State Secretariat for Trade, through ICEX Spain Export and Investment, organized the Spain-India Business Meeting to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries. The event featured the participation of India's Minister of Trade and Industry, Piyush Goyal, and the Secretary of State for Industry, Jordi García Brustenga.

During the meeting, Goyal proposed a 10x10x10 alliance to companies from both countries, aiming to increase bilateral trade, tourism, and investment between Spain and India tenfold over the next ten years. The proposal seeks to foster more ambitious business cooperation based on concrete projects.

For its part, Spain highlighted India's strategic importance and the opportunities that the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and India can generate. Among the sectors with the greatest potential are rail, aerospace and defense, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing, as well as digital infrastructure, the green transition, and the automotive industry.

The Director General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Inmaculada Riera, emphasized the institution's commitment to strengthening bilateral economic relations. "India and Spain share a vision based on open trade, international cooperation, and investment as engines of growth. It is time to elevate our economic alliance to a new level. The Spanish Chamber of Commerce remains firmly committed to strengthening economic relations between Spain and India and to supporting companies that wish to develop new opportunities in both markets. The Spain-India CEO Forum is a key tool for reinforcing high-level business dialogue, promoting joint projects, and fostering new investments between the two countries."
