India chairs the Asia-Pacific Group at Mondiacult 2025 in Barcelona

G. Kishan Reddy participated in this event, convened by UNESCO to shape the future of global cultural policy

India's Minister of Culture, G. Kishan Reddy, represented his country at the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (Mondiacult 2025), held recently in Barcelona. The event, convened by UNESCO, brought together ministers and cultural leaders from around the world to shape the future of global cultural policy.

During the plenary session and the election of key officials, the Indian minister chaired the Asia-Pacific Group. This, according to his ministry, reflects India's growing leadership in fostering cultural cooperation in the region, as well as its "unwavering" commitment to global cultural dialogue and the advancement of culture as a cornerstone of sustainable and inclusive development.

Also within the framework of this conference, G. Kishan Reddy held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Spain, Iran, Norway, Colombia, and Greece. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in heritage conservation, creative industries, museums, and the performing arts.
