CaixaBank boosts its market share in foreign trade between Spain and India

In 2025, the entity achieved a market share of 56.6% in documentary export credits between Spain and India

Our patron CaixaBank boosted its market share in foreign trade between Spain and India in 2025, consolidating its position as a leading financial partner for European companies operating in the Asian country.

CaixaBank has had a presence in India for 15 years. In 2025, it strengthened its market share in export documentary credits between Spain and India, reaching 56.6% (compared to 35.4% in 2024); in import documentary credits (up to 31%; +210 basis points); and in guarantees managed between the two countries (55%, +80 basis points).

These growth figures demonstrate CaixaBank's commitment to developing economic relations between the two countries, which will be further strengthened by the signing of the trade agreement between the European Union and India in January 2026, expected to enter into force in 2027.

CaixaBank opened its office in New Delhi in 2011 as a strategic platform to support its corporate clients in their internationalization and growth processes in one of the world's fastest-growing economies, and to support international trade flows in the corridor between Spain and India. Over the years, CaixaBank has developed a close relationship with India's leading financial institutions. The bank also maintains close collaboration with chambers of commerce, business associations, institutional bodies, and companies in both countries to foster new business opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
