The Observer Research Foundation (ORF) is one of India’s main think tanks
On the occasion of a visit to India by the Council Foundation’s Secretary General, Manuel Cacho, several meetings were held with India’s main think tanks. Sunjoy Joshi, Chairman of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) welcomed Manuel Cacho to ORF’s offices in Delhi. Future cooperation on upcoming activities was agreed during the meeting. Both the Spain India Council Foundation and ORF offer programmes focused on future leaders. ORF organises the Asian Forum on Global Governance every year, attended by young leaders from all over the world, while the Spain India Council Foundation held the first edition of its Future Indian Leaders programme in May this year. Cacho and Joshi exchanged impressions on the organisation of these activities for future leaders and examined cooperation opportunities for the two organisations. The Chairman of the Observer Research Foundation, also an energy expert, showed great interest in working together and said he hoped to see specific proposals coming to fruition in the short term.
Manuel Cacho also visited the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), whose Director, Rajat Kathuria, volunteered to establish links with Spanish organisations during a meeting at the Council’s headquarters on October 26.
Lastly, SICF’s Secretary General held a meeting with Radha Kumar, Chair of the Delhi Policy Group (DPG) and the Nelson Mandela Centre for Peace & Conflict Resolution at Jamia Millia Islamia University. Kumar thanked Spain for its work within the Alliance of Civilizations to boost dialogue between different countries.
