The Spain-India Council Foundation signed an agreement with the Palermitando Artistic Cultural Association to collaborate in the development of its "Acircándonos. India 2011" project, with the common goal of cultural exchange with India, in this case in the field of performing arts. The "Acircándonos. India 2011" program took place over the course of a month, from January 8 to February 6, 2011, in the city of Kolkata, among others.
The Palermitando Artistic Cultural Association is a non-profit organization that seeks to establish cultural exchange with the circus as a mediator. It consists of young people from different parts of Spain that come together to bring the circus to countries around the world and thus create and strengthen multicultural ties, disseminating Spanish culture through the social circus project "Acircándonos". The name, in Spanish, came from a play on words between the soul of the idea of Palermitando, which was the circus ("circo"), and its intention to approach other cultures ("acercándonos").
